Frequently asked questions

Is Naklin a licensed locksmith?

Yes. Naklin operates under California BSIS Locksmith Company License LCO8368 (valid 07/29/2025 – 07/31/2027). You can verify it at search.dca.ca.gov.

Are the technicians licensed too?

Every technician on Naklin holds a California locksmith license that we verify before they can take jobs. You can ask to see it at the door.

How is the price decided?

Your technician confirms the price for the job before any work begins. Naklin's service fee is added to that, and you approve the total before anything starts. More detail →

When and how do I pay?

After the work is done, by card or cash. You get a receipt.

Where do you work?

We're building our technician network in Koreatown and Mid-Wilshire first. For other Los Angeles addresses, call and we'll tell you honestly whether a licensed technician can take the job.

Are you open at night and on weekends?

We don't promise all-hours coverage. If you call and we can't take the job, we'll tell you straight away so you can call someone else.

Will the locksmith ask for ID?

Expect it. A licensed locksmith should check that you live at the address or own the car before opening it. It protects you.

Rekey or replace — which do I need?

Rekeying makes old keys stop working and keeps your lock. Replacing is for damaged or worn locks, or an upgrade.

I rent. Can I change my locks?

Most leases require the landlord's permission, and many buildings need a copy of the key. Check your lease or ask your building manager first.

Will you damage my door or car?

The goal is always non-destructive entry, and most locks can be opened that way. If drilling or a replacement is needed, you'll be told why and what it costs before any work.

How do I avoid a locksmith scam?

Get the total before work starts, check the license number with the state, be wary of very low phone quotes that grow on arrival at the door, and ask for a receipt with the company's license number.

What happens to the details I send in the request form?

We use them to handle your request — to call you back and arrange the job.

Ready when you are. Call (310) 464-2466 or send a request — we confirm whether a licensed technician can take the job, and the price, before anyone heads out.
